Abstract

The paper presents the history and good initiatives of Hungarian historical churches regarding Roma mission. In Roman Catholic Church it is the role of some religious orders to work with gypsies, while in the Calvinist Church it the pastor who decides whether to deal with Romani people or not. In Borsod Abaúj Zemplén county the Greek Catholic Church reaches gypsies first place through their educational and social institutions. I show the useful methods, the results and the common hardships of these activities.
