The thesis deals with the relations of Christian churches and Roma ethnic groups, their attitudes and opinions about each other, how they profiled during the ten centuries from the Byzantine Empire to the present in the Czech Republic. It deals with the Indian origin of the Roma and their arrival on the European continent. Particular attention is paid to Czech-Roma history. The author proposes his own information of the relationship of Christians to Roma ethnicity throughout the second half of the 20th century, which he personally gained from interviews with many Christians and Roma themselves. The author provides a detailed overview of Christian social services of churches among the Roma at the end of the 20th century. Finally the thesis analyzes and presents recommendations for improving the missionary service among the Roma.
