Abstract
In my thesis I analyzed the changes in values, ways of life and self-definition of a gypsy community in Kőrispatak (Romania, Hargita county), whose members have converted to religious groups. Throughout my research I also reflected upon the surrounding Hungarian society too, more specifically on the alterations of the Gypsy-Hungarian relationships as a consequence of religious conversion.
