Through this report, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have undertaken the first comprehensive quantitative survey of the Roma minorities in fi ve Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and the Slovak Republic). This study seeks to provide national and international policy makers, academics and representatives of civil society with accurate, reliable, and comparative statistical data, which are necessary to design and implement sound policy.
